Hollister, San Benito County
Over the Fourth of July weekend in 1947, thousands of motorcyclists crowded into Hollister for a rally, and exaggerated press accounts of the rowdy scene inspired the 1953 Marlon Brando film The Wild One. The town has leaned into the legend ever since, hosting anniversary rallies along San Benito Street. Hollister is the seat of San Benito County.
